FE.2b Early Finished

Wingut Wings FE.2b Early
After a long slog, mainly due to all of the necessary rigging, I have finished the kit. It is an awesome model with it's spindly appearance and miles of rigging. One does wonder how the crew found the courage to keep going up in these things, especially with the various Jasta pilots hunting for them. It's a significant aircraft and an amazing build from Wingnuts Wings. I know of no other model company that puts so much quality, engineering and detail into its kits, and that insist they be reasonable to build. I'd not call this easy, but that speaks more to the modeler's requirement to deal with rigging than with any fit or alignment of parts. They were all superb.

Next up: The Wingnut Wings Fokker Eindecker E-III Late.

Cockpit view. Note telegraph key and early wireless with battery on floor. These planes' primary duties were observation and artillery spotting and control.

Beardmore six cylinder, pusher configuration. I cold have made the engine much more oily and grimy as they were prone to leak prodigiously.
